Kentmere 100 is relatively fine grain Panchromatic black & white film ideal for daylight Photography.  It has medium contrast, subtle tones, and very good exposure latitude.  Due to its affordability and broad exposure latitude it is an ideal film stock for beginners. Compared to Kentmere 400, it seems to have a little more contrast and punchier tones.

When metering for this film we highly recommend erring on over exposure by metering for the shadows.

Great affordable film for 35mm

I’ve shot 3-4 rolls of Kentmere 100 and have been happy with the results. It can hold plenty of detail and is fairly forgiving. It’s biggest advantage is the price. It might not be quite as high quality as Ilford Hp5 or Kodak tri-x but it’s great cheap film for learning the craft without spending too much money.
