“This is one of my favorite photographs. It represents what I assume being a mother feels like, the struggle, the exhaustion, the love, the reward. And my wife is the best mother, look at those little girls, they live for her, I didn’t have to pose them, this is just what they do when she’s around. She is the glue that holds us all together. Through times like these when the world is on edge, when work is stressful, when children are needy, and husbands are selfish, she’s this amazing and beautiful constant. I don’t really want to entertain the thought of being a father without her, or what kind of person I’d be with her presence for 17 years. I hope even in 20 years time I will sit across from my wife and my 27 and 23 year old daughters and they will have enough understanding of what an amazing woman their mother is to naturally recreate this pose again. There are mothers and then there is Jaime, a woman who didn’t just work her ass of to birth them, but worked her ass off to better herself to become the most amazing mother, and raise two amazing daughters… at least we hope… god don’t we all hope.”

“My selfie game is reaching new levels 👌🏾 Right before attempting to teach myself how to cut my own hair. More than anything I’m learning to be more self sufficient. My way of life has drastically changed and as a person who is chronically ill. I think it has been really important for me to be this cautious and careful long before the pandemic and I think I’ve learned some really important lessons about my health during this that I will need to carry with me when this is all over🤎.”

“Document your life. After 1.5+ years of a break, I’m going to start back fresh at posting some moments special to me on film. I’m starting back with a set of pictures of Em and each of our three littles. Here’s one of those moments that you don’t pose for, but that I appreciate the most. John woke up early, and came in crawled in our bed. I was getting dressed, and when I walked out of the bathroom, I found he had snuck into my spot and he and Emily were curled up in the same position. These moments are the reason I keep film cameras loaded throughout the house, so I can always grab one if I ‘see’ something.”

“Using a self portrait to kick off my photo series, “Essential.” I asked folks still working during quarantine to share how the pandemic has influenced their work. All photos were taken from a safe distance. For me, it forced me and my coworkers to work In shifts. Only one person goes in per day to take care of our mouse work. While it’s nice to leave the house, it’s hard not having my coworkers around. I feel stressed every time I go to work. It takes a lot to put myself into public spaces knowing there’s others around me whose health could be at risk. I do my best by immediately washing my hands when I get home, throwing my clothes in the laundry and taking a shower. My cat doesn’t understand why I don’t immediately greet her on the bed, like the princess that she is lol. Sometimes she stands outside my shower and screams at me.”

“One of the highlights of our week is getting to head over to Langenstein’s to pick up groceries. This photo was taken on our first day out with face coverings. I have come to find that it’s hard to read people’s facial expressions while having half of it covered. However, it seems pretty obvious from my wife’s eyes that she was not excited about me grabbing this photo, especially while her hands were full.”
